Repairing and refinishing marble surfaces including those uncovered surfaces from the victorian era.

Marble-Pro-Care™ carries out deep pore cleansing, restoration, resurfacing and polishing (to the required finish) of etched, stained and damaged marble, limestone, travertine and terrazzo surfaces across Derbyshire and the east midlands

Sometimes these surfaces will require preparatory methods which involve the use of grinding/honing tools by utilizing the technological advances in relation to vacuum extraction, refurbishment of such surfaces is no longer the dusty, dirty process it used to be.

Marble-Pro-Care™ is equipped to deal with any environmental or hygiene requirement/situation and at a time to suit customer needs. we also provide a repair service for chipped/cracked marble worktops, vanity units or wall tiles.

Terrazzo Flooring (Tiled Or Poured) And Victorian Marble Mosaic Repairs

Marble-Pro-Care™ is in a unique location to source many of the locally quarried and imported spars which make up the ingredients of many terrazzo floor/ tile patterns. we work closely with local authority building conservation and planning officers and with heritage conservation groups.

Restoration of uneven marble , limestone or travertine floor tiles .

this is referred to in the trade as ‘lippage’. where such lippage exceeds 5mm, grinding is not an option. the only solution to the problem in order to achieve a level floor is the excavation of the offending tile and rebedding it level. once this is completed it allows the complete grinding and polishing process to take place. if relaying the tile is not an option, localised deep pore cleansing of each tile will be undertaken to revive and retore to the required finish.

Sealing of marble, limestone, travertine and terrazzo surfaces.

there exists literally dozens of sealers on the market which claim to do the job required.  these can be split into two separate groups.

  • surface sealants and
  • penetrating sealants

surface sealants are only partially absorbed into the top pores of the surface and leave a considerable percentage of the product on top, resulting in wastage and a dulled surface finish.  epoxy and polyurethane products are often combined with a solvent which acts as the ‘vehicle’ for ease of application and thus, these fit into the surface sealant group. such applications also call for a check to be made on the abrasion/anti-slip charactistics and scratch resistance properties of the finished surface.

penetrating sealants on the other hand are more suited to the traditional materials i.e. marble, limestone, travertine and terrazzo. these react very favourably with the calcium content and produce a deep healthy protection and a lasting sheen when buffed/polished up.

as fully accredited and licensed ‘dry-treat’ application contractors, marble-pro-care™ offers you the ultimate sealing service supported by a product guarantee together with an annual maintenance contract if required.
